Former Lion Ziggy Ansah signs a 1 year deal with the Seattle Seahawks and Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Ansah may miss up to the first month of the season due to a shoulder injury.
Schefter states in his tweet:
New Seahawks’ DE Ziggy Ansah still is recovering from shoulder surgery that is expected to keep him out of training camp or longer; some league sources believe Ansah could miss the first month of this season, at least.
According to ESPN's Brady Henderson, the deal is expected to include $5.5 million in guaranteed money, with incentives that could boost it by roughly another $8 million.
When healthy, Ansah is one of the premiere pass rushers in the NFL as he accumulated 48.0 sacks in 80 games with Detroit, 14.5 sacks in 2015 and 12.0 sacks in 2017.
In the past three seasons, Ansah has been limited by ankle, knee and shoulder injuries. Ansah is coming off of a torn labrum and still recovering from the surgery that happened back in December against Arizona.
Ansah was drafted 5th overall by Detroit in the 2013 NFL Draft.
