MAC Commissioner on Power 5 College Only Playing Each Other: "Unrealistic"

Posted August 8th, 2014 @ 11:02am

On Thursday, the NCAA Board of Directors voted to give autonomy to the Power 5 conferences in college sports.

The SEC, ACC, Pac-12, Big 12, Big 10 and Notre Dame are now allowed to write their own rules, separate of the rest of the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Shep talked to Dr. Jon Steinbrecher, the commissioner of the Mid American Conference, on Friday morning to discuss the vote.

When asked about the possibility of the Power 5 schools only playing each other in college football, and not any of the other conferences, Steinbrecher said it was "unrealistic."
