The Detroit Tigers honored the late Tony Gwynn during their game on Monday night against the Kansas City Royals.
Gwynn passed away after battling cancer at the age of 54.
The Tigers and other teams around Major League Baseball painted "TG 5.5" on the infield. Gwynn used to have "5.5" on the tongue of his baseball cleats, signifying the hole between the third baseman and shortstop where he used to regularly hit singles.
