During a game against North Florida, the University of Florida's mascot Albert Gator shielded an unwitting young fan from a foul ball, only to take the hit on the snout.

Albert went down, but was soon revived by his little buddy, who performed CPR:

After passing through mandatory reptile concussion protocol, Albert was back at work the next day for a softball game against UCF sporting a bandage:

Heroes really do come in all shapes and sizes.
